Hunter Homeless Connect Day 2026

Hunter Homeless Connect Day is an annual event that brings together people in need with vital services and supports. It connects guests with accommodation and housing providers, health & wellbeing services, legal & financial assistance, employment & education opportunities and a range of other supports for those who are experiencing homelessness, severe housing stress or doing it tough.

Since its beginning in 2009, Hunter Homeless Connect Day has grown into a major community event, welcoming over 4000 people each year. It offers a one-stop access point for essential human and community services, from housing support and help with birth certificates, to legal and financial advice, energy bill assistance, employment and study opportunities, and support for domestic violence, drug and alcohol issues. Guests can also access free health checks, including immunisations, eye tests, diabetes screening and mental health services.

Adding to the community spirit, the event includes free haircuts, food, entertainment and sporting activities, all designed to lift spirits and create connection.
