Concert Mode
The Arena is a state-of-the-art facility capable of transforming to various modes to suit individual events. Under its various concert modes, the Arena is designed with maximum performance and patron comfort in mind.
Purpose built to accommodate the most complex and demanding events, from theatrical style productions to the grandest extravaganzas. The flexibility in the design offers a variety of seating configurations for your selection.
Utilising softwall curtaining, we can produce reduced intimate modes to meet your event.
Concert modes include:

- Reduced mode – variable between 2,500 - 7,500 patrons. Click here to view Seating Plan.

The venue offers event organizers flexible backstage and production facilities.
Portable chair seating arrangements for all events are approved prior to the on-sale of each event.

Sports Mode
The Newcastle Entertainment Centre is a premier indoor sporting facility built to accommodate the demands of athletes and spectators alike. Our arena has a 4,100 square metre clear span floor with a 15.683 metre ceiling height, making it the perfect venue to host almost any indoor sporting event. With the flexibility to be configured in various modes, the Arena can provide a seating capacity ranging from 2,000 up to 5,000 seats.
Additional to our ability to host almost any sporting event, we have an excellent warm up ara and extensive team change room facilities.
The Newcastle Entertainment Centre has a successful record in hosting a variety of local, national and international events in the following sports:
- Boxing
- Basketball
- Tennis
- Gymnastics/Aerobics
- Motorcross
- Ice Skating
- Netball
- Rodeo/Bull Riding
There are two electronic score boards suitable for basketball, netball, tennis and other sports. They also contain programmable moving message displays for teams, notices and sponsor recognition.
Exhibition Mode
The seating is fully retractable providing 4,100 square metres of clear span exhibition space.
Function Mode
The Centre is able to host functions catering up to 2,000 guests. The venue can be themed to any style you desire and our Catering Manager will tailor a menu to suit your individual tastes and budget.
